Scottish Kosher
Whisky Trail
Journey through Speyside's rolling glens and Highland moors, discovering the ancient art of Scotch whisky โ with every meal, every dram, fully kosher certified.
Scotland's Only
Fully Kosher Whisky Experience
L'Chaims is proud to offer what we believe is the world's only fully kosher supervised whisky tour of Scotland. Designed for whisky-loving Jewish travellers who refuse to compromise on kashrut, this immersive five-day journey takes you deep into the heart of Speyside โ Scotland's most celebrated whisky region โ as well as the dramatic Highland distilleries.
Every distillery visit, every tasting, every meal and every hotel has been personally vetted. Our dedicated mashgiach travels with the group throughout, ensuring complete peace of mind. This is not a "kosher-friendly" tour โ it is strictly and completely kosher from the moment you arrive to the moment you depart.
The tour is limited to a maximum of 16 guests, ensuring an intimate, personalised experience. Our knowledgeable tour guide is both a trained whisky educator (WSET Level 3) and fully conversant with halacha, ensuring every tasting is conducted in complete accordance with Jewish law.

Tour Itinerary
Your Scottish whisky adventure begins at Glasgow Airport (or Glasgow city centre) where your private coach awaits. After checking into our partner 4-star kosher-friendly hotel, your first evening is given over to a Welcome Dinner at L'Chaims Restaurant itself โ an exquisite four-course Glatt Kosher meal with a curated flight of five introductory Scotch whiskies, guided by our whisky educator.
The evening includes an orientation session covering the five whisky-producing regions of Scotland, basic nosing technique, and the halachic considerations relevant to whisky consumption. A perfect, convivial start to the week.
After a full Glatt Kosher breakfast at the hotel, your private coach heads north through stunning Highland scenery to the Speyside region โ home to more whisky distilleries per square mile than anywhere on earth. Your first stop is the renowned Glenfarclas Distillery, a family-owned gem where the sixth-generation Grant family have been distilling since 1836. A private tour of the production facility and a tasting of five expressions follows.
Lunch is a packed kosher meal prepared by our mashgiach, enjoyed with views of the River Spey. The afternoon brings visits to the Glenfiddich and Balvenie distilleries in Dufftown โ "the whisky capital of the world." A private tasting in Balvenie's sample room is a highlight not available to the general public. Dinner is a three-course kosher meal at our partner hotel in Craigellachie.
Day three takes you along the famous Speyside Malt Whisky Trail. Morning visits include Strathisla โ Scotland's oldest working distillery, established in 1786, with its iconic pagoda roofs and picturesque millpond setting. The tour continues to Cardhu (the only distillery in Scotland founded by a woman, Helen Cumming, in 1884) and the magnificent Glen Grant distillery with its stunning Victorian gardens.
Afternoon brings a special masterclass at the Speyside Cooperage โ the only working cooperage in Scotland open to the public โ where you witness the extraordinary skill of master coopers hand-crafting and repairing the oak casks that give whisky its colour and much of its flavour. A kosher Shabbat-style dinner is served at the hotel as Shabbat approaches for Friday groups, or a full dinner service for mid-week groups.
Departing Speyside, your coach follows the Great Glen northward to Inverness โ the capital of the Highlands โ for a brief sightseeing stop and a kosher lunch overlooking Loch Ness. The afternoon brings a visit to the impressive Dalmore Distillery on the shores of the Cromarty Firth, famous for its 12-point royal stag emblem and its extraordinary aged expressions reaching 62 years.
Your final distillery of the day is Glenmorangie โ one of Scotland's best-loved single malts โ where a private tasting of the Original, Quinta Ruban and Nectar D'Or is arranged. The evening brings a special blending masterclass where each guest creates their own personal whisky blend to take home as a bottled souvenir.
The final day journeys south through the breathtaking Highland scenery of Perthshire โ one of Scotland's most beautiful counties. A morning visit to Aberfeldy Distillery (home of Dewar's blended Scotch, though we focus on their single malt) is followed by a scenic drive past Loch Tay and through the Sma' Glen.
Your farewell lunch is a full Glatt Kosher four-course meal at a private dining room, accompanied by a guided vertical tasting of a single expression across multiple vintages โ a perfect way to consolidate the week's learnings. Your coach returns to Glasgow by late afternoon, with airport transfers and a parting gift of a curated three-bottle whisky set awaiting each guest.
